How Long Is an Oxygen Chamber Session? 2 Hours vs 12-Hour Night Sessions

At Oxygen Clinic, the normal answer is two hours. The overnight answer is twelve.

This guide explains what counts as the session, why Oxygen Clinic uses a longer standard visit than many clinical HBOT providers, and when the dedicated 12-hour night format makes sense.

Quick answer

A standard Oxygen Clinic chamber session lasts two hours. The clinic’s current Terms & Conditions state a minimum session time of two hours and list entry times in two-hour blocks. Oxygen Clinic also offers a dedicated 12-hour night session from 8:30 PM to 8:30 AM. Other oxygen or hyperbaric providers may use different durations because their chamber type, pressure, oxygen-delivery method and purpose are different.

What happens during the normal two hours?

Once you are inside and the chamber reaches its operating conditions, most of the visit is simply time spent seated in the controlled environment. Oxygen Clinic describes the two hours as yours to read, work quietly, listen to something or sleep.

The chamber provides comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, television, charging facilities, refreshments and an internal toilet. That makes two hours feel less like a conventional appointment and more like a block of scheduled downtime.

02 · Does the session include pressure changes?

Is every minute spent at the final chamber pressure?

Oxygen Clinic’s public terms describe entry and exit as staff-assisted processes and list bookings in two-hour blocks. The chamber must move between ordinary ambient pressure and its operating conditions, so a visit includes compression and decompression rather than behaving like an ordinary room you simply walk into and out of.

The clinic does not currently publish a minute-by-minute breakdown of compression, stable-pressure time and decompression. For that reason, we do not invent one.

Planning tip: treat your booking as more than exactly two hours door-to-door. First-time visitors are currently asked to arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled session.
03 · Why competitors quote different times

Why are some oxygen chamber sessions 60–90 minutes instead?

Because “oxygen chamber” is not one universal service. Clinical hyperbaric oxygen therapy, low-pressure wellness chambers and oxygen-enriched walk-in chambers can use different pressures, oxygen-delivery methods and operating protocols.

The Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society describes clinical HBOT treatment times as typically around 90–120 minutes of oxygen breathing at pressure, while individual medical protocols can be shorter or longer. Some UK commercial HBOT providers advertise 60–90 minute sessions. Those times should not be copied across to Oxygen Clinic because the service is different.

Service type Typical / published duration Important distinction
Oxygen Clinic standard session 2 hours Oxygen-enriched wellness chamber environment
Oxygen Clinic night session 12 hours Dedicated overnight wellness format
Clinical HBOT Often ~90–120 minutes, protocol dependent Medical treatment with different pressure and oxygen protocols

What changes when the session lasts 12 hours?

Oxygen Clinic’s night session is not simply six normal daytime bookings joined together. It is a dedicated overnight format from 8:30 PM to 8:30 AM.

The clinic currently provides four foam mattresses, full bedding, REDOX water, tea and coffee, Wi-Fi, TV, audio equipment, USB charging and complimentary parking for the overnight stay.

The night session is marketed as an extended wellness experience, not as treatment for insomnia, sleep apnoea or another sleep disorder.

05 · Does longer mean better?

A longer session is not automatically a stronger or “better” session

Session duration is only one variable. Pressure, oxygen concentration, gas composition, delivery method, purpose and individual suitability also matter.

That is why it would be misleading to say that 12 hours must produce six times the effect of two hours, or that a two-hour Oxygen Clinic visit is automatically more effective than a shorter clinical protocol. Different services are designed for different purposes.

06 · How much time should you actually allow?

Do not schedule your first visit as a two-hour gap between meetings

For your first visit, the safest planning assumption is to allow more than the two-hour session itself. Oxygen Clinic’s current terms ask guests to arrive 20 minutes before their scheduled booking, and entry/exit involve staff and pressure changes.

Oxygen chamber session length: quick answers

How long is an Oxygen Clinic session?

A standard Oxygen Clinic chamber session lasts two hours.

How long should I allow for my first visit?

Allow more than two hours overall. The clinic currently requires arrival 20 minutes before the scheduled session, and entry/exit include staff-assisted pressure changes.

Why are some hyperbaric sessions only 60–90 minutes?

Different providers use different chamber types, pressures, oxygen-delivery methods and protocols. A clinical HBOT session should not be treated as a like-for-like comparison with Oxygen Clinic’s wellness chamber.

How long is the night session?

Oxygen Clinic’s current overnight session lasts 12 hours, from 8:30 PM to 8:30 AM.

Is a 12-hour session better than a two-hour session?

Not automatically. Duration is only one factor, and Oxygen Clinic does not claim that the overnight format produces a fixed multiple of the effect of a standard session.

Can I sleep during a two-hour session?

Yes. Oxygen Clinic’s current About page specifically says guests can read, work, listen to something or simply sleep.
